NYPD Big Blue
Seattle has the Legion of Boom and Denver lays claim to a No Fly Zone, but New York features the finest in all things – including defensive secondaries and law enforcement; two units that have combined to provide the Giants defensive backs with their newest nickname – NYPD (New York Pass Defense).
After a rough 2015 campaign the New York Football Giants dove deep into free agency and used the draft to address their defensive deficiencies, revamping the squad with Janoris Jenkins, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Landon Collins, and Eli Apple ready to defend any passes that pressured QBs might get off.
The result? A top 5 ranking in scoring defense, opposing quarterback rating, passes defensed and interceptions – adding up to an 11-5 record and a heavy rep around the league. Thus the NYPD moniker was born for the other heroes in blue!
